Should your company have a blog ?

In deciding whether or not your company should have a blog please consider the following questions :

  1. Have your bloggers got a burning passion or at least some enthusiasm for the blog subject area (your products / service / industry).
  2. Have your bloggers got the time and organisation skills to dedicate to researching, publishing and in some cases promoting blog posts.
  3. Can you access third party resources to add content / opinion from industry experts – maybe your clients or partners can be “interviewed” on the blog ?

The benefits of a blog include :

  • You can write in-depth articles about your products and services – this may aid conversion, reduce customer service calls and gain your site links from other sites.
  • You may see a rise in relevant traffic from search engines who love text and freshly updated texts above all else.
  • You might find it an efficient way to engage with your customers and get useful feedback and market information in the sector you operate in.
